I make art using site specific installations, photography and collage.
I’m interested in using ruptures and matter out of place to disrupt the boundaries between the built environment, the domestic, and the natural world.
My site specific works explore and animate the politics / histories of the chosen place.
I completed a Fine Art MA at Wimbledon School of Art in 2010, basing my final show around the politics and poetry of wild fruit.
Alongside my artwork, I design and make bespoke furniture.
I trained as a carpenter in the early 1980s, when access into the trade was opening up for women, and worked in a building co operative for 3 years while also starting to train as a cabinetmaker. I set up my furniture business in 1991 and have made my living as a cabinetmaker ever since.
Spaces of construction and domesticity often appear as central motifs in my artwork.
I’m based in Hackney, East London.
